In autumn of 2025, Riga hosted the first-ever SANDBOX – a professional development conference dedicated to playground and landscape architecture, bringing together around 200 industry professionals, including architects, landscape designers, municipal representatives, and urban planners.
Throughout the day, fifteen renowned speakers from Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, and other European countries, together with Baltic experts, explored how to create more human-centred, sustainable, and playful public spaces.
The programme featured inspiring talks, Q&A sessions, and discussions on inclusivity, climate resilience, and the role of play in urban life.
